About this course
This is the deep track. It is for people who want to work as developers — career changers, graduates, and professionals who have decided that "can use a computer" is no longer enough. You do not need prior coding experience, but you do need time: this course assumes you will write code most days, not just in class.
You will build three things. A styled, responsive site from raw HTML and CSS. A front-end application in a modern framework that talks to an API you wrote yourself. And a full portfolio project with user accounts, a PostgreSQL database, file uploads, a payment flow using Paystack test keys, and a live URL you can give to anyone.
You leave with deployed work, a Git history that shows how you think, and the habits that separate someone who has finished a tutorial from someone who can be handed a ticket. We cover debugging properly, because that is most of the job.
Sessions are taught in person at our Abuja centre, laptop open, with code written live and reviewed in the room. Between classes you build, and your work is read and commented on before the next session. If you have already done our Web Development Foundations course, you will move quickly through the first module — that is expected.

Questions people ask
Do I need to know how to code before I start?
No. We start from writing your first HTML tag and assume only that you are comfortable using a computer. You should, however, expect to put in several hours of practice between sessions — this is the full-stack track, not an overview.
How is this different from Web Development Foundations?
Foundations covers building and publishing good-looking websites. This course goes much further: a JavaScript framework, your own back end and database, authentication, payments, testing, deployment and a portfolio project. It is aimed squarely at people who want a developer job.
Do I need my own laptop?
Yes. You need a laptop you can install software on, with at least 8GB of RAM. Windows, macOS or Linux are all fine. Bringing your own machine matters because everything you set up in class must still be there when you get home.
Will this get me a job?
It gives you what employers ask for: deployed projects, a real Git history, and the ability to discuss your own code under questioning. We prepare you for technical interviews and review your portfolio and CV. We cannot promise placement, and you should be wary of anyone who does.
How much time should I set aside each week?
Plan for your class hours plus around ten hours of independent building. Students who treat the practice time as optional are the ones who struggle from the framework module onwards.
Can I pay in instalments, and is there a certificate?
Instalment plans are available — speak to our admissions team about the current options. You receive a Toko Academy certificate on completion, which requires attendance plus a finished, deployed capstone project. The certificate follows the work, not just the attendance.
